Childhood poem.....

I was a sole child
Always watched by my grandma
My parents worked hard
They hardly had any time

It wasn’t until
I was two-and-a-half
That my sole kingdom was road kill
For my sister had come

She came and played
My grandma took us
To the park with her aid
We were sisters

When I moved up to elementary
I was scared and nervous
What if the teacher was mean?
What if she picked on me?

It turns out I was wrong
All my suspicions for nothing
She also had a gong
For silence it was needed

I turned nine and moved up
To upper elementary
Again I was plagued
With nervousness

I learned all she had to teach me
I made friends, who before I had no contact with
One became the best friend of them all
Though she was annoying at times

In sixth grade I was the top
Over the fourth graders I scoffed
They were nothing
But I held my pride aloft

Now I have graduated
From the school since two
I will miss it so
For it has been my home

I look to the future
And not at the past
Choose carefully always
For it might be your last
